Malicious Software/Virus Advisory

Recent changes in the very nature of how viruses, worms, trojan horses, adware, malware, spyware and all related software has forced Uptown Computers to clarify it's warranty policy to better encompass these changes. Under no circumstances are any infections or damage caused by these types of software covered under any Uptown Computers warranty. Any infections or damages caused by malicious software or viruses are repaired (if possible) at Uptown Computers prevailing labor rate on a first-come-first-served basis.

Predictions
Uptown Computers predicts a major increase in the infections of computers, network equipment and other electronic devices caused by malicious or damaging software. This type of software can be designed with the sole intent of destroying entire volumes of data. Other predictions include the possible infections of any type of computer, network equipment and other electronic devices.

Precautions
Basic precautions that should be taken include; loading antivirus software and ensuring it stays up-to-date, loading adaware software, make sure that all critical updates have been run and most importantly having a recent backup.

Conclusions
Uptown Computers considers the new aggressive nature of this malicious type of software to be the start of a paradigm shift in the basic nature of this type of software. It should be assumed that it is only a matter of time before any computer becomes infected or damaged and as such end users must prepare for these likely infections.

Release of liability
Uptown Computers cannot be held liable for any infections or damages either incidental and consequential caused by any or all malicious software.
